Built in 1891, Mataia Homestead was home to the Gardner family as they worked and developed the surrounding farm. Registered as a Category 2 Historic Building with the NZ Historic Places Trust, the homestead was fully restored in 2005 and now plays host to guests from all over New Zealand and the world.
